iPhone users, beware! Apple has sent you a warning. Apple has issued a warning to its customers about the dangers of charging their iPhones while sleeping. According to the firm, charging iPhones on soft surfaces such as cushions or blankets may result in incidents such as fire or burns.
Apple’s iPhone user guide was updated with the warning. It encourages users to avoid charging their iPhones while sleeping under a blanket, pillow, or your body. When charging, users should keep their iPhone, the power adapter, and any wireless charger in a well-ventilated area and on flat surfaces, according to the advice.
Why? According to the warning, iPhones generate heat while charging. This heat must be expelled. Enclosed or restricted locations might obstruct this process, resulting in burns or catastrophic fires. Charging your iPhone under your pillow is a no-no.
Apple also advises charging your iPhone with the included charging cord and an Apple USB power adapter. It also warns against using faulty cords or chargers or charging when there is moisture present, as this can result in a fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the iPhone or other property.
“When a device, power adapter, or wireless charger is connected to a power source, do not sleep on it or place it under a blanket, pillow, or your body.” When in use or charging, keep your iPhone, the power adapter, and any wireless charger in a well-ventilated environment. Take extra precautions if you have a medical condition that impairs your capacity to perceive heat against your body.”
Apple’s warning follows many incidents of iPhones catching fire while charging. In one occasion, an iPhone caught fire while charging in the kitchen of a family. While charging, an old iPhone 4 caught fire, and the explosion caught fire.
