The iPhone 15 Pro is considered to be a generational leap forward from its predecessors, featuring a dramatic redesign in design and hardware.
We’re only a few weeks away from September, which is best known for the release of the new iPhone. Apple has traditionally held its premier event in September, during which it unveils the new iPhone lineup as well as other must-have holiday devices. While previous iPhone generations have generally given modest enhancements, the iPhone 15 series is projected to deliver a generational jump over previous models. Here are all of the new features that will be included in the next iPhone 15 series.
Titanium frame
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are reported to be inspired by the iPhone 14 series, with a flat aluminum chassis and dual-camera arrangement on the rear. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first iPhones to use a titanium frame.
Action button
The mute switch on Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series will purportedly be replaced by a programmed action button that may be utilized at the user’s choice. According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will retain the same old mute switch that has been a component of iPhones since the first generation.
USB Type-C port
According Apple reports, all iPhone 15 versions would be USB Type-C compatible. However, Ming-Chi Kuo reports that only the Pro versions would have a faster USB 3.2 data transfer rate, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will only have a USB 2.0 standard.
Dynamic Island with ultra-thin bezels
All four iPhone 15 models, like the iPhone 14 Pro series, will have a contemporary display with a capsule-shaped notch. According to Bloomberg, the iPhone 15 Pro series would feature new LIPO display technology to further lower the size of the bezels to 1.5mm.
A17 Bionic processor
According to DigiTimes, Apple’s premium iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will employ the new A17 Bionic, a 3nm semiconductor fabbed by TSMC. Similarly, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be powered by the prior generation A16 Bionic chip, which is currently used in the iPhone 14 Pro series.
8 GB memory
According to TrendForce, Apple will include 8 GB of RAM on the iPhone 15 Pro series for the first time, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to offer 6 GB of RAM, and the base variants of all four iPhone 15 models are likely to offer 128 GB of internal storage.
Periscope telephoto zoom lens
The high-end iPhone models are expected to include a 48 MP wide-angle camera with great resolution. The Phone 15 Pro Max, in fact, will be the first iPhone to have a periscope zoom lens with 5/6x optical zoom.
Repair-friendly design
With the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, Apple unveiled a new repair-friendly design. According to Bloomberg, the same design language will be used to all four models of the iPhone 15 series, making swapping the back panel, battery, and display easy.
Wi-Fi 6E
The more expensive iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are said to include Wi-Fi 6E capabilities, thanks to Qualcomm’s new and better network modem. Because the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are built on the same network chip as the iPhone 14 Pro, they will only support Wi-Fi.
Ultra-wideband chip
Apple is believed to integrate a new and more efficient ultra-wideband processor for improved ecosystem connectivity. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the new chip would help Apple provide improved compatibility between the company’s first VR headset Vision Pro.
LiDAR scanner
Since the iPhone 12 lineup, LiDAR has been a part of the iPhone Pro series, and with the iPhone 15 Pro, Sony’s new and upgraded sensor is believed to increase 3D depth mapping, resulting in better portrait pictures and AR app experience.
