Shailesh Lodha had previously sued ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashamh’ producer Asit Kumarr Modi for failure to pay his debts. The case has now been won by the actor.
In the popular TV soap ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ Shailesh Lodha played the title character. He left the sitcom after 14 years due to a disagreement with the producer, Asit Kumarr Modi. Lodha was said to be waiting for his debts to be cleared. It has now been reported that he has won the lawsuit he filed against producer Asit Modi for failing to pay his debts.

According to the Times of India, “a sum of Rs 1,05,84,000/- is being paid by way of demand draft by Asit to Shailesh.” Shailesh had applied to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) earlier this year for the payment of his year-long debts. According to the report, the matter was heard via virtual hearing under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. It was’settled between the parties in accordance with the consent terms by counsel for the parties.’
“This fight was never about money,” Shailesh told TOI. It was about seeking justice and regaining one’s self-respect. I feel like I’ve won a battle, and I’m relieved that the truth has triumphed.” “He (Asit) wanted me to sign some papers to clear my dues,” he added. They had provisions such as not speaking to the media and other restrictions. I didn’t submit to the arm-twisting. “Why would I sign anything just to get my money?”
