Threads, an Instagram application, has 80 million users. Learn who is on Threads, how Twitter reacted, and whether you can erase your Threads profile.

Threads, an Instagram app for text-based conversation, debuted this week and saw a surge in signups inside the first 48 hours.

How many people are using the Threads app?

There are now over 80 million accounts on the Threads app, according to the number badges that appear on Instagram profiles and indicate when someone joined Threads.

According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the amount of sign-ups was “beyond our expectations.”

On Track to Reach 100 Million Users More Rapidly Than ChatGPT, TikTok, and Instagram

The total number of Threads users has surpassed 80,457,633.

At the current rate of user acceptance, Threads should surpass 100 million users within a few days of its introduction.

As an example:

In two months, ChatGPT had 100 million users.

In nine months, TikTok had 100 million users.

In two and a half years, Instagram surpassed 100 million users.

The integration of Instagram and Threads accounts makes it simple for the 1.6 billion existing Instagram users outside of the European Union to sign up for Threads and begin using the app with an engaged audience from the start. Soon, we’ll explain why it’s not available in the EU.

How Has Twitter Reacted To Threads?

Twitter’s response to increased competition was a letter threatening to sue Meta, implying that Meta had employed former Twitter employees with access to trade secrets, among other things.

Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, commented to the potential lawsuit on Twitter:

How to Access Threads

Threads is available on both the App and Play stores.

The ticket directs users to the App Store to download Threads.

Threads Members

With over 30 million users, the Threads app has something for everyone: celebrities, influencers, brands, and your favorite SEO sites, including Search Engine Journal.

Threads also hosts other social platforms.

So far, no official Twitter account has been discovered on Threads. Its official Instagram account was last updated in July 2022 and lacks a Threads badge.
